Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as a passionate ambassador of Center in the Park’s mission and philosophy, clearly articulating and modeling its values through daily work and community engagement.
Support the coordination and growth of program infrastructure, research initiatives, and training activities tied to academic–community partnerships and funded projects.
Bring fresh, creative energy to the delivery of health promotion and wellness programs, including the Self-Management Series and other innovative, evidence-based approaches.
Take health promotion beyond the walls of the Center—bringing programs “on the road” through community outreach that includes: Evidence-based self-management courses; Blood pressure screenings; Exercise and movement workshops; Health education pop-ups and special initiatives
Actively build excitement and awareness around CIP’s offerings by connecting with community partners, host sites, and residents both on-site and throughout the community.
Play a key role in expanding outreach goals and increasing participation in Center in the Park programs by meeting people where they are and creating welcoming, engaging entry points.
Recruit participants and host sites to strengthen and grow the Center’s health promotion programs and community reach.
Collaborate closely with the Health Promotion Supervisor and Center Services team to bring health programs, workshops, and special events—such as health fairs—to life.
Explore, evaluate, and help implement new evidence-based health promotion programming aligned with community needs.
Work alongside volunteers to support seasonal and national initiatives such as National Memory Screening Day and American Heart Association awareness events.
Coordinate and administer evaluation surveys to measure program impact and continuously improve offerings.
Represent Center in the Park at community events, actively engaging residents, partners, and stakeholders by staffing outreach tables, sharing program information, and creating welcoming connections that increase awareness and participation in Center offerings.
Maintain accurate program data, documentation, and reports, including funder reporting for organizations such as the Philadelphia Corporation for Aging (PCA) and the Self-Management Resource Center.
Facilitate workshops that promote community participation, overall health, cardiovascular wellness, and nutrition, including coordinating educational sessions and supporting peer educators.
Support the Health Promotion department in the planning, coordination, and implementation of health screenings and vaccination events, including their promotion at Center in the Park
Bring enthusiasm, collaboration, and a team-first mindset to all work, contributing positively to a dynamic, mission-driven environment.
Participate in required meetings and trainings, actively applying new skills and knowledge to strengthen program delivery and community impact.
Knowledge & Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a combination of relevant health-related education and professional experience.
Basic understanding of the physical and emotional needs of older adults.
Knowledge of computer systems and applications used in senior centers.
Knowledge of program development and training.
Basic understanding of marketing and outreach
Skills Required
Good computer skills, including database management

Strong organizational, developmental, and planning skills.
Good interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently & as a member of a multi-resource/task team.
This is a full-time position (35 hours per week), with the majority of time spent in the office at Center in the Park and approximately 30% of time spent in the field. Reliable transportation and access to a car are required.
